Vendors / Peddlers

Vendors Ordinance

A vendors ordinance is in effect within the township.  The purpose of this ordinance is to regulate vendors, peddlers, solicitors, etc.; to provide licensing for same; and to provide a penalty for violations in order to protect the public health, safety, and welfare.

A license is required for vending, soliciting, or peddling within the township; the current license fee is listed in the Township Fee Schedule.  Vending activity is prohibited at a private residence prior to 9:00am and after 7:00pm.  Vending is not permitted on property where the owner or occupant has posted a "no soliciting" or similar sign on premises.

The complete text of the vendors ordinance, including license conditions, is available here:  Watertown Charter Township Vendors Ordinance (No. 38)
