The earliest known burial was recorded in 1850. Wacousta Cemetery is the final resting place for many of the area’s earliest citizens, including more than 250 military veterans. Over 160 years of history, including the restored Grand Army of the Republic monument honoring Civil War soldiers, lies within the cemetery boundaries.
